Getting more than I bargained for! That should have been the title for this amazing workshop. I’ll admit, I was hesitant about taking this class. I’m into paper, not fabric, and my sewing machine was a little dusty from lack of use. (I wasn’t even sure if it would work).
I like constructing books but I don’t ever use them (they’re just too pretty). It was the long list of techniques that would be covered, that drew me to the workshop, not the final product.
Sue was overflowing with shortcuts. She’s a great teacher, warm and approachable. Given that the project was very involved, each step was presented at a comfortable pace. It was so fun sampling and using new supplies! The project incorporated painting, stamping, stenciling, silk-screening, sewing and more. I quite like the finished product.
I now have so many additional skills to draw from, which is always wonderful.
In the next few weeks I’ll be adding singular posts on materials we used, where to purchase them and how to use them in your work. Be on the look out! And don’t be shy, if you have any questions I’d love to hear from you.
